Laurie Thompson nisiyikason. Kikino Metis Settlement oci niya. I have been an educator for over 33 years in both First nations and public school systems. I am an Indigenous Educational School leader and included with my Indigenous knowledge is knowledge gained with a Master of Arts in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University and I am currently beginning the third year of a Doctor of Education in Distance Education degree with Athabasca University. My leadership development includes my school base, and I have served on many NLPS admin committees, and co-chaired the Teacher Board Liasion Committee for a number of years. Additionally, I have extensive experience from AB. provincial committees including Inclusive Education, Northlands Community Engagement, Inspiring Education, and the Teacher Quality Standards and Leadership Quality Standards. I have been called upon to attend and advise on Indigenous educational concerns to the Canadian Ministers of Education Council.
